Welcome to Inch House Irish Studies Centre

Inch House is a residential centre in rural Ireland for visiting university and school student groups. Built in the late 1600s and located in the stunning County Donegal, the Inch House Irish Studies Centre offers group accommodation, excursions and field visits for school, college and university student groups.

The centre offers:

Accommodation for up to 60 students and faculty;
A full academic programme management service; including accommodation, meals, classes, excursions and field visits;
Unrivalled experience with study tour management - we have hosted 5,000 students and 50 schools and universities over the past decade;
Internationally renowned teachers and lecturers;
A privately owned coach, minibuses and cars, with drivers;
Free wi-fi, excellent teaching facilities and an extensive library of antiquarian Irish history books;
Fully customisable programmes, with detailed itineraries;

Location

The Inch House Irish Studies Centre is located on Inch Island, a land-tied island with a permanent causeway, 15 minutes from Derry City. Our programmes are based on Inch Island, but we regularly accommodate students in Galway, Dublin and Belfast as well.

Inch Island is on the Wild Atlantic Way, a 1000KM coastal drive on Ireland's west coast. Within a few kilometres we have:

breathtaking wildlife, including: seals, otters, porpoises, dolphins, horse riding, golden eagles, sea fishing and a wildfowl reserve,
a population of rare basking sharks,
the inaugural UK City of Culture,
the host city for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2013, the world's largest traditional music festival,
a 4,000 year old ring fort,
the Irish building of the 20th Century,
some of the world's best beaches,
stunning golf courses,
award winning museums.
